The lowest free monomer hardener on the market presented to the industry in the US.
Benefits all along the chain include less restrictive labelling for varnish producers and safer and improved ease of use for wood coating applicators.

Caronno Pertusella (Varese, Italy) November 13, 2013 – SAPICI formally introduced into the North America market its low free-monomer line of hardening products specifically developed for wood coating applications. The opportunity of the announcement was given by the Coating Wood & Wood Composites conference organized in Charlotte (NC, US).

Established in 1936, SAPICI has collected almost eighty years of continued investments and experience to develop the technology for the production of isocyanates characterized by a content of free monomer guaranteed as lower than 0.1 per cent.
The SAPICI Polurgreen Line provides the Company’s customers and their own clients – e.g. the final users – with significant benefits in terms of respect and protection of their health and the environment. The Company explained that by using its Polurgreen Line it is possible for the coating factories to produce safer varnishes – just replacing their current isocyanates, without any further changes to their formulations or production equipment – and for the painters to apply products that do not contain such dangerous elements as free TDI monomer. SAPICI informed that it keeps producing its traditional product lines too.
In terms of labelling, the use of the innovative and sustainable SAPICI Polurgreen Line of products makes it possible to downgrade from “danger” to just “warning” symbols – without the use of the Chest pictogram –, immediately proving and showing the lowering of the potential risk of the final products allowed by SAPICI’s R&D investment and capabilities.
SAPICI has built its own manufacturing plant for the production of the Polurgreen Line in San Cipriano Po (Pavia, IT), from where – in addition to its plants in Cernusco Sul Naviglio (Milan, IT) and Zhuhai (Jinwan District, China) – it serves its customers worldwide.
“We do believe in continuous development and in the commitment to sustainability of the global chemical industry. This is why SAPICI keeps investing to perfect and make available new lines of products with increasingly lower potential impact on the health of producers and users, while providing enhanced protection to the environment,” commented at SAPICI.
